How to counter and exploit weaknesses

His Q stun can be stopped by CC (knockback, stun) during his charge — interrupt him before he reaches you.

Kite him: Volibear is fast with Q but has no real gap-close after.

His R disables towers temporarily: don't rely on the tower to save you when he dives.

Grievous Wounds reduces his W heal which is his sustain in extended trades.
