Playing as Master Yi

Tips to maximize your impact

  1. Dodge with Alpha Strike

Cast Alpha Strike (Q) to dodge a spell or a burst: you're untargetable during the strike, and your autos lower its cooldown.

  2. Meditate to tank damage

Cast Meditate (W) to tank a burst mid-teamfight: you take less damage, heal more at low health, and the time left on Highlander (R) is paused.

  3. Activate Highlander to chase

Activate Highlander (R) to chase: you gain move speed and attack speed, and slows no longer affect you.

  4. Chain your kills

Chain kills in teamfights: each takedown lowers the remaining cooldown of your basic spells, and extends Highlander (R) if it's active.

Playing against Hecarim

How to counter and exploit weaknesses

  1. Leave the landing point of his R

When he casts Onslaught of Shadows (R), move away from the end of his dash: the shockwave there fears every nearby enemy, longer after a long run.

  2. Save your CC for his charge

If you have a slow or CC, save it for Devastating Charge (E): he gains speed as he runs, and Warpath (passive) turns it into AD.

  3. Save your burst for after his W

Wait for Spirit of Dread (W) to end before your burst: while it lasts, he gains armor and magic resist and heals from damage dealt around him.

  4. Ward his gank paths

Ward his gank paths: Devastating Charge (E) gains speed over time, so he looks to build momentum in the fog of war.
