Playing as Thresh

Tips to maximize your impact

  1. Flay first, hook second

Open with Flay (E) before Death Sentence (Q): the slow makes the hook much easier to land.

  2. Land charged autos

In lane, space out your autos: Flay (E) charges them passively, and the longer you wait between two autos, the more damage they deal.

  3. Don't jump on every hook

Don't recast Death Sentence (Q) on reflex: the target is already being pulled toward you, and jumping on them often exposes you for nothing.

  4. Throw your lantern early

Throw Dark Passage (W) toward an ally in trouble before they need it: they can click it to come back to you, with a shield.

  5. Place your box after the hook

Place The Box (R) right after a successful hook: to escape, the target has to break a wall, and the first wall broken slows them and deals full damage.

Playing against Ashe

How to counter and exploit weaknesses

  1. Short trades

Take short trades: each auto slows you with Frost Shot (passive), and her autos deal more damage to slowed targets.

  2. Back off during her Focus

Back off when she activates Ranger's Focus (Q): for a few seconds, her attack speed rises and each auto becomes a flurry of arrows.

  3. Punish her lack of mobility

If you can engage, go for her when her support drifts away: her kit has no dash, only slows.

  4. Dodge her long-range arrow

Prioritize dodging Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R) fired from far away: the farther the arrow has traveled, the longer the stun.
