Playing as Blitzcrank

Tips to maximize your impact

  1. Grab from a clear angle

    Fire Rocket Grab (Q) from a brush or a side angle: it grabs the first enemy hit, so you need a line without minions.

  2. Power Fist right after the grab

    After a successful grab, cast Power Fist (E) right away: your next auto knocks the target into the air and deals double damage.

  3. Sometimes engage without a grab

    Sometimes engage without a grab: rush in with Overdrive (W), knock your target into the air with Power Fist (E), and save Rocket Grab (Q) for when they Flash away.

  4. Bait with your shield

    Use Mana Barrier (passive) to bait: at low health you get a shield based on your mana, enough to make a kill look easy.

  5. Save your grab for their carry

    In teamfights, save Rocket Grab (Q) for their carry and wait for them out of vision: grabbing them before the fight starts often decides it.

How to counter and exploit weaknesses

  1. Don't trade into her shield

    Avoid trading while her ally has Eye Of The Storm (E): the shield absorbs your damage and gives them AD.

  2. Engage twice

    Bait out Howling Gale (Q) or Monsoon (R) with a first engage, then re-engage right away: one has a 14-second cooldown, the other 130 to 100 seconds.

  3. Cancel her Monsoon heal

    If you have CC, save it for Monsoon (R): after the knockback, she heals her allies as long as she stands still, and interrupting her cancels the heal.
